Metallurgical Standards & Surface Treatments
Understand the physical properties, corrosion ratings, and maintenance demands of mild steel, stainless steel, and architectural aluminum before fabrication.
The Three Core Residential Alloys
We select steel gauges and alloys engineered to withstand tropical moisture, vehicular vibration, and daily cycling.
Structural Mild Steel (IS 2062)
The backbone of residential driveway gates and heavy compound security walls. Provides unmatched structural stiffness and impact resistance against vehicular accidents.
- Appearance: Clean rectilinear edges, accepts CNC laser cutting smoothly
- Tensile Strength: 410–540 MPa (Highest structural stability)
- Maintenance: Clean with hose; recoat required every 8–10 years
- Recommended For: Main driveway gates, window bars, cantilever sliders
- Finish Options: Thermoset powder coating, zinc epoxy primer
Stainless Steel (Grade 304 / 316)
Alloyed with 18% chromium and 8% nickel to form a self-healing passive oxide barrier. Impervious to monsoon rains, garden sprinkler spray, and coastal humidity.
- Appearance: Modern brushed satin or brilliant mirror luster
- Tensile Strength: 505–700 MPa (Excellent toughness)
- Maintenance: Virtually zero; wipe with microfiber cloth
- Recommended For: Balcony glass balustrades, staircase handrails, sea-facing homes
- Finish Options: Hairline satin, mirror buffing, PVD titanium coating
Architectural Aluminum (6063-T6)
Weighs 65% less than structural steel, making it the premier choice for fast-opening automated gates. Eliminates gear motor wear and provides natural corrosion immunity.
- Appearance: Sharp contemporary lines with integrated louver profiles
- Tensile Strength: 215 MPa (Optimized for low inertial load)
- Maintenance: Wash with soapy water annually
- Recommended For: Automated driveway gates, privacy screens, high-rise grills
- Finish Options: Architectural anodizing, fluoropolymer powder coat

Precision Blueprint MatchHow We Help You Choose
A clear breakdown of metallurgical characteristics based on your budget, environment, and architectural intent.
| Factor | Mild Steel (MS) | Stainless Steel (SS 304/316) | Architectural Aluminum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Initial Investment | Cost-effective benchmark | Premium tier (2.2x MS) | Moderate to High (1.6x MS) |
| Structural Rigidity | Exceptional (Ideal for 18ft+ gates) | High tensile rigidity | Moderate (Needs thicker box profiles) |
| Corrosion Resistance | Requires powder coat sealing | Naturally rustproof (grade 316) | 100% immune to red rust |
| Motor Compatibility | Requires heavy-duty motor drive | Standard motor drive | Whisper-light on smaller motors |
| Recommended Location | Urban inland residences | Coastal, pool, or humid zones | Modern residential carports |
| Perceived Aesthetic | Bold, solid, architectural | Lustrous, industrial-luxury | Sleek, minimalist, lightweight |
